Field Gear Testing

Working in the campus lab alongside Outside Inc. and taking inspiration from field gear reviews across multiple platforms, I took existing and borrowed gear outside to put it to the test during the semester. Items tested ranged from puffy jackets, hiking shoes, camp stoves, tents, sleeping bags, and pads. With each piece of gear, I created a professional write-up, mirroring current discussion and design in print and digital media. Each test includes surveys, reviewed and utilized during field trips, to break down important features, add-ons, cost, and comparisons between each item, culminating in a comprehensive look at some of the outdoor industry’s most common gear you’ll find on the shelves and in packs.
